Since the inception of RangersMedia, we have continued to grow year on year and are always looking for new ways in which we can push ourselves forward as a platform for the fans of the greatest team on this planet.
This Friday May 8th sees a massive event and landmark in the history of RangersMedia - our inaugural Sportsmans Dinner which is to be held in the Wee Rangers Club beside Ibrox.
A superb three course meal is on the cards followed by some fantastic speakers (Jeff Winter and Donald Findlay QC) which will of course end with a wee singalong and who knows, with the booze flowing there might even be some wavering souls that make it onto the dancefloor.
The tickets for the event were sold out within a matter of weeks when it was announced in October of last year and we even had to arrange with the WRC to shuffle the tables about to fit some more punters in such was the demand for tickets.
In the end we could have probably sold the event out twice over, something which is a credit to the calibre of speakers that have been arranged and most importantly to our fiercely loyal members without whom RangersMedia would not be where it stands today. We genuinely believe we are the best medium for Rangers fans to discuss everything that they love about the most successful club in the world and that is testament to every user that has contributed to the forum and to writing news articles.
One aspect of RangersMedia that continues to set us appart is that we are very much for the fans and by the fans.
We run as a non-profit making organisation and every penny from the events of the upcoming Sportsmans Dinner will not even be going back into the website - we will be getting fully behind a very worthy charity called Moni Malawi and the procedes of the night shall be going to helping some of the most needy people in the world.
The Moni Malawi charity was set-up to fund development projects and aid in one of the most deprived areas of the world. Earlier this year one of our own Admin, and big supporter of the charity, travelled to Malawi to help in the aid effort and to report his experiences to us back home who tend to take the basic necessities in life for granted. All monies raised at the RM Sportsmans Dinner will go directly to helping the Moni Malawi charity bring some much needed hope to people who so desperately need it.
So how are we going to raise the money? Well, already scheduled for the night is a raffle and an auction, yet we have several other secrets kept firmly up our sleeve. Some highly confidential stuff that will hopefully make our inaugural night really something special to remember. A benchmark that we can strive to attain year on year as we continue to push boundaries.
Some of the items that will be up for auction that will have every fan at the auction reaching for their wallets include a signed red poppy shirt (framed), an original John Fleck modern art painting that will hopefully be signed by young John and one of the original Rangers share certificates from 1899 (framed).
Even if you have not been fortunate enough to get hold of a ticket for this years event, you will still be able to bid on the auction items if there is something that really takes your eye. The full list of items will be confirmed in the coming days, so if you wish to know more, please contact any member of staff.
We would like to thank our membership for their loyal support since the site's inception back in 2005 and we are certain that those of you lucky enough to have tickets for the big night will not be disappointed and be safe in the knowledge that you are helping fund a fantastic charitable cause.
