After hopefully getting a good nights sleep after their 23 hour hop-skip-and a jump flight across the World, the Rangers squad spent their first day proper in Sydney with an open training session at Leichardt Oval in front of a small but eager bunch of fans who had came out to see the boys stretch their legs.

Walter, Ally & Kenny McD. put the players through their paces in cool but glorious sunshine in an important session to rid the players of any jet-lag after effects from the arduous trip.

For anybody who has never flown from Scotland to Australia, I can assure you it doesn't get any easier no matter how many times you do it,nor how much sleep you get on the plane, even in business class; so this session was very important regards getting the players body clocks back into synchronisation.

Our fellow RM Bear from Sydney, 'BeautifulSeas' attended the training session and reported that not all players took part in the training session, namely Neil Alexander & Kenny Miller.

No reason was available as to why they did not participate.

Steven Whittaker also sat out the last 45 minutes of the session, but whether it was due to jet-lag or a small injury, we don't know.

BeautifulSeas was busy with his camera and snapped a load of great pictures of the lads training, which he has posted on the RM site for us all to enjoy, so on behalf of us all, BS....thanks for posting them..Big thumbs up mate!

I certainly hope that all the lack of communication from the team that confused us Aussie Bears, (and certainly contributed to fewer fans being at the training session than I expected) is now over and that our fans can really become like a 12th man for them when the tournament commences in two days time.

The lads should have a training free day, with maybe a light run, tomorrow (Saturday) so I hope they get to enjoy the sights of this most stunning of Harbour cities that is virtually guaranteed to be decked out in a not too hot sunshine, before they get down to the serious business of beating Blackburn Rovers on Sunday at the SFS.

Most RM members will be very familiar with the Blackburn Rovers squad; which incidentally has not yet touched down on Australian soil, giving them not much time to prepare for our match, so I thought that in tomorrow's blog, I will give you a bit of insight about what players from AEK Athens and Sydney FC, could influence which of these three teams are most likely to stand in the way of Ally McCoist's intended blueprint to leave Australia as winners of the inaugural Sydney Tournament of Football.

Hopefully, if we win the trophy, Rangers FC will get invited back again next year to defend it.

Two days to go...Roll on Sunny Sunday.
