James Beattie is today being linked in the Daily Record with a move north of the border from Stoke. Beattie fell out of favour at current club Stoke after news of an elaborate falling out with manager Tony Pulis.

Beattie has also been linked with a move to Blackburn, however the £1.5 million fee placed on his head has tempered that interest.
The gaffer has already allegedly held talks with Chief Executive Martin Bain with regard to putting together a financial package that could see the free scoring Englishman move to Ibrox on loan for the season.
The Daily Record today indicated that Bain has access to "emergency funds" that could see Rangers being able to bulk up a wage offer into a similar ballpark to the kind of wages that Beattie would command or they may choose to negotiate with the player in order to bring down his demands - he is rumoured to be on around £35k per week.
If either of these were not to happen, Rangers could then be in a position to negotiate that Stoke would continue to pay part of his wages in order to get an unhappy player, who has a poor relationship with his manager off the books and training ground.
